To create the highest quality underwear providing our customers with comfort and confidence while using business to give back to the homeless and underserved.
In October of 2015 we began our research and development phase to create the worlds first pair of hybrid underwear. The goal was to create a product that combined the comfort and quality of luxury lifestyle with the essential performance features demanded by world class caliber athletes all the way down to “weekend warriors”.
Our research and development stage was a 2 year odyssey that lead us to 3 continents in a quest to find the world’s most luxurious and functional fabrics. However, it was while sourcing fabrics in the Downtown L.A Fashion District that we got a real eye opener. Many of the vendors we did business with were located smack-dab in the middle of “Skid Row”. There were times that we literally had to step over or around homeless people on the sidewalk in order to enter a vendor’s warehouse. After experiencing how serious the homeless situation was on an almost daily basis we knew it was an issue that we wanted our brand to address.
After bootstrapping our startup and launching March 14th of 2017 we were able to meet all of our sales and organizational goals within our first year in business. This allowed us to implement our “Derde Donations” program where we donate one pair of underwear to the homeless for every pair of underwear purchased.
Although our story is just beginning, we are extremely proud that our business, with the help of our early supporters and brand advocates has afforded us the opportunity to give back to the community. For every pair of underwear that we sold during our first year in business a pair was donated to someone in need.
We look forward to the future and the challenges of growing our business. And as our business grows, so will our donations, to cities and underserved areas throughout the United States, in our quest to make the world a better place one pair of underwear at a time.
Why Derde Drawz?
Derde comes from the “Out the Mud” mentality of creating something from nothing, while embracing the imminent grind and struggle that comes with building or accomplishing anything worthwhile. It also speaks directly to how we are willing to get down and Derde and get out into the community to do the Derde work necessary to give back and make a positive impact.
At the end of the day we’ve all got on Derde Drawz were just the first to acknowledge it.
